Development Phases

7/9/2010: Been sitting on this project for a little bit, and it occurred to me that I could've been using it to make some money for SF3 (or myself). Anyway, I had some ideas along those lines and wanted to get them off my Palm pilot, so here goes.

Starport screen, seven offices:
  • Operations (forum, profile information)
  • Marketplace
  • Fleet Management
  • Bank (can buy spending points with real cash)
  • Bookie (place bets on upcoming live matches)
  • The Arena
  • Airlock (logout and return to main menu).

Gameflow:
  • Main Menu
    • Login
      • Name and password, or area for profile registration
        • Simple registration menu (name, email, alias), with OK (goes to STARPORT if registration successful) or CANCEL options.
        • Simple login area (alias, password) (goes to STARPORT if login successful)
    • Settings
      • Usual audio/video crap.
    • Quit

  • Starport
    • Various areas (each will need their own screen)

  • Bookie
    • Will assign odds on all upcoming fights, base odds on the Total Composite Strength Index (TCSI)
      • TCSI is a composite of the combined ship's SI and Crew Skill Score Value (CSSV) of all ships in the player's fleet.
    • TCSI is compared between players, higher player has odds in their favor.
    • bidding limit is ten times the combined TCSI of both players.
      • Odds, go one over odds for payout odds for the favorite, underdog has the higher payout.
        • Underdog collects bid * odds, Favorite collects bid * 1 / odds. Losing bets go into the fight's purse.

I've got that XML...and I need to add CSSV to the initial attributes. This basic data structure for ships will need to have "current" indicators added to it.
